It was 2006 and VIM owner, Julie Guttormson was 31 years old and had lived in Jackson for only a year. Her world changed that year forever when she suffered a stroke from three blood clots in different, major veins of her brain. Julie was lucky enough to walk away healthy and have great health insurance to back up her experience. Because not everyone has the same fortunate outcome, Rock the Ride was born as Julie’s personal way give back to the community in the best way she can and celebrate another year in business (2025 marks VIM’s 13th anniversary).
